Japanese Green Tea.
How to Prepare
For a traditional cup of matcha:
- Matcha: 1 g
- Water: 8 oz
- Temperature: 175°F / 80°C
- Preparation: Whisk until smooth and lightly frothy
Place 1 g of matcha into your bowl or cup. Add approximately 8 oz of warm water at 175°F / 80°C, then whisk until the matcha is fully incorporated and lightly frothy.
For a Matcha Latte
Prepare the matcha using the recommended 1 g of matcha and 175°F / 80°C water, then add warm or cold milk according to your preference.
For a richer latte, adjust the amount of milk to achieve your desired balance between creamy texture and matcha flavor.
Preparation Tips
Avoid using boiling water when preparing matcha. The recommended 175°F / 80°C temperature helps create a smoother, more balanced cup.
Whisk thoroughly to fully incorporate the fine matcha powder and create a smooth, lightly frothy texture.
Because matcha is consumed as a powder rather than steeped and discarded, whisking is an essential part of the preparation.
